In partnership with Nuit Blanche Kelowna, the Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art is pleased to present an exhibition by Kelowna artist Krista Stoneman in the Alternator Members’ Gallery from September 28 through October 13 2018. This exhibition will include a free, family-friendly water marbling workshop on Friday September 28 from 7pm – 9pm in conjunction with the Nuit Blanche Kelowna festivities.
Krista Stoneman is the principle artist at Colour Drop Designs. With a focus on public participation through workshops presented around the Okanagan, Krista leads participants through the process of water marbling, allowing them to select colours and techniques to create their own one-of-a-kind creations. For the Nuit Blanche Kelowna workshop Krista will provide guidance, canvases and paints for members of the public to create their own artwork. This workshop is free but advance registration is required. Registration is available here: https://www.nuitblanchekelowna.ca/registration-workshop
Also on view at the Alternator during Culture Days is Written Matter, an international group exhibitions featuring work by Dora Economou (Athens); Jack Jeffrey (Vancouver); Natalia Calderón (Xalapa); Roberto Comini and Valérie Bourdel (Marseilles); and Gary Pearson (Kelowna). The exhibition, guest curated by Gary Pearson, is centered on the relationship between language (text) and materials (matter).
All events and exhibitions are free and open to the public. Join us on Culture Days weekend to learn more about the Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art!
