Come join us for the IBPOC & Queer Urban Artist Hangout: Maawanji’idiwag [They Come Together] at The Alternator. A safe and sacred space for IBPOC and/or 2SLGBTQQIA+ artists in the Kelowna area to create art & foster community conversations.

Materials will be provided, please feel free to bring your own if you have them.

This event is meant to foster connection between those in Kelowna who practice art and fall under the following categories of identification:
- IBPOC and/or
- Queer (2SLGBTQQIA+)
This list is not exhaustive and anyone who feels they belong in these communities is welcome.

Maawanji'idiwag: [mah-wahn-ja-eh-dewaag]: translates to “they come together” in Anishinaabemowin, the endangered language of the Anishinaabe people. Used in this context it refers to marginalized artists coming together to discuss their lived experiences in Kelowna.
