Call for Submissions to be considered for the Main Gallery in 2020/21 closes on Thursday, February 28, 2019 @ 5 pm. Any submissions received after this deadline will be considered for 2021/22 programming.

Proposals received prior to 5 pm onFebruary 28 2019, will be considered for the Alternator’s 2020/21 exhibition schedule. Applicants included in this intake can expect to hear final results of their submission by July 2019.
The Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art is an artist-run centre located in Kelowna, BC. Since 1989 the Alternator has shown the work of emerging Canadian and international artists with an experimental approach, particularly those engaged in social and cultural issues.

We are committed to fostering artists’ professional autonomy and are proud to pay successful applicants CAR/FAC fees. The Alternator does have limited funds available to assist with exhibition production expenses. If you require assistance with production expenses, please include a detailed description and budget of production expenses as part of your programming submission as well as expected installation schedule/timeline.
