How Great Thou ART

June 1-16, 2018
Opening Reception: Friday, June 1, 6-8 pm.

How Great Thou ART show cases the works of local artists Ute Hilligwig and Stella Tessier. Both prefer acrylics as a medium to paint the vibrant universe. Stella’s passion is quaint villages, birds and flowers while Ute’s inspiration comes from her many world travels and the Okanagan. Painting is something they enjoy doing together.

Ute Hilligweg was born in Goerlitz, Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1961. Ute is a self-taught artist who paints in acrylics and favours a style that is a combination of impressionistic and reality-detail-oriented. Her signature works consist of landscapes, architecture, and unique flowers in a natural setting.

Stella Tessier is an acrylic, realist painter. Her original start was 1997 in Edmonton where she took lessons. Her work is very detailed and covers a range of subjects. Painting quaint villages, old buildings, birds, flowers and landscapes is her passion.
