I am a Bachelor of Fine Arts graduate student from the University of British Columbia 2026 cohort! I mainly use oil paints for my practice, and take my own reference photos from around the Kelowna landscape. I enjoy interpreting the contrast of night scenes lit by artificially sourced lighting to portray a sense of unease and uncertainty. I use emotionally charged locations as my inspiration, intending to engage with themes of mental health and fear of the unknown.
As an art student and someone who has grown up in Kelowna, the Alternator is a staple of artistic expression in the community. I have enjoyed visiting the space, as it cultivates a zone for creativity and open ideas.
