I am a multi-disciplinary artist working in photography, painting and sculpture.
My photography career began in London, England in the early 2000's shooting fashion and cosmetics before turning my camera to action and industrial photography. This work has allowed me to travel extensively and collaborate with some of the top athletes and production teams in the world.
My artistic practice includes making photographic collections that are highly detailed documentations of otherwise inconspicuous and mundane items that have been modified for purpose or aesthetic value, and well-used by one or more owners.
My painting and sculptures are driven by the need for answers to questions I had during my childhood, but couldn’t ask, and questions that I have as an adult but cannot answer. My artwork attempts to inject colour, humour and play on the, often times, dark palette of human experience. Much like untangling a nest of yarn and reforming it into a ball that can be of use, the finished pieces help me to make sense of the insensible.
The Alternator has been an invaluable resource for me as an emerging artist and the Centre community has been so welcoming, helpful and insightful. In particular, the artist development workshops have enabled my confidence to grow when speaking or writing about my art.
