Our birth marks the beginning of our journey towards our ending. However, our death is not determined entirely on chronological years. From infants to the aged, without discrimination, we are inevitably summoned to depart from this world. “No one escapes the dance with death.” Our mortality is indeed an essential element of human existence.

Maureen Kaczkowski is a self taught artist who is constantly honing her skills in analogue collage. Born in southern Ontario, Maureen now pursues her love of art from her home based studio in Lake Country, BC.

Life experiences and observations of society have most definitely influenced her work, as has her indulgence in viewing the collective art platform. Through her artwork Maureen evokes responses, initiates reflection and activates the imagination of the viewer. Her expressive conceptual artwork is recognized for its’ distinctive unconventional approach.
