Opening in our Main Gallery will be Grace With Holding by Robyn Jayne Miller. Grace With Holding brings together Gelatin, the rendered byproduct of industrialized meat production, and a western colonial dining room. Through the lens of social performance, several roles are layered upon each other; the Gelatin as the body, as us, the Gelatin as the apparatus, the dining room, and the Gelatin as food, the thing consumed.

How the material of the body adeptly conforms to these various roles, but also denies them, is an invitation in both jest and grave seriousness to enter the masquerade of our own lives with consideration for the forms we take, and the purposes they serve.

Up next in the Project Gallery is Debris of a Mother Tongue by Reyhan Yazdani. Debris of a Mother Tongue considers language as a living ecology shaped by movement, rupture, and transmission across bodies and generations. Drawing from experiences of diaspora and mothering, Yazdani works with familial and linguistic fragments—half-remembered images, inherited words, absences, and mistranslations—through handmade and drawn works on paper, wax and pastel objects, speculative sculptures, and laser-cut words and images. Arranged as an imaginary archaeological site, these fragments resist reconstruction into a complete narrative. Instead, they remain dispersed and mutable, carrying traces of the bodies, places, and histories from which they have become separated while making space for other forms of relation and becoming.
