George Popi // Dizzying Coffee Nap

Dizzying Coffee Nap, Mixed Media (whole and ground coffee beans, wire, paper, tape and glue), 13cm x 16cm x 8cm.

Dizzying Coffee Nap is an examination of how excesses in consumption becomes a part of us and impacts how we experience the world. The self-portrait sculpture is envolped in ground coffee that had been used for the artists' morning cup. A smaller sculpture, made using whole coffee beans that weigh a double shot of espresso, lies beside the main scuplture.
