Building on the success of our spring lineup, the Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art is excited to launch the Fall edition of our 2026 Artist Development Series. This ongoing program equips emerging and mid-career artists with actionable, professional tools to build sustainable creative careers alongside regional experts. Through these workshops, we aim to move beyond simple skill-building to help you build collaborative networks and gain the confidence needed to navigate the contemporary art world.
Registration is now open for our first drop of Fall sessions! All workshops are free to attend, with optional Pay It Forward contributions welcomed to help keep our programming accessible to everyone.
Fall Workshop Lineup:
Navigating Taxes for Artists with Kathy Chin
Session 1 (In-Person): Saturday, September 26, 2026 | 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Session 2 (Online via Zoom): Saturday, October 3, 2026 | 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Demystify artist taxes, income and expense tracking, GST registration, and tax schedules in a practical tax series featuring an in-person workshop and a live virtual Q&A.
(Note: Sessions require separate registrations—attendees are welcome to register for Session 1, Session 2, or both depending on their needs).
